Regular Season Round 9: Keravnos - Etha 73-62

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Keravnos (6-2) beat 5th ranked InterCollege Etha (3-5) in Nicosia 73-62. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. InterCollege Etha was better in second period 15-10. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. International center Sophia Theologou (190-88) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 12 rebounds for the winners and American-Greek Niki Avery (167-86, college: EKU) chipped in 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Angela Tompkins (188-91, college: Wichita St.) with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 15 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals and Styliani Theodosiou (175-96) scored 14 points. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Keravnos. Defending champion maintains third place with 6-2 record having just two points less than leader C2S AEL. Newly promoted InterCollege Etha keeps the fifth position with five games lost. Keravnos will play against league's leader C2S AEL in Limassol in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. InterCollege Etha will play at home against Anagennises (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
