Regular Season Round 18: Parma-2 - Khimki-2 63-54

The most important game in the last round took place in Perm between third ranked Khimki-2 (14-8) and eleventh ranked Parma-2 (4-18) on Monday night. Khimki-2 was defeated by Parma-2 in a tough game on the road 54-63. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Khimki-2. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Khimki-2 won fourth quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Parma-2 forced 21 Khimki-2 turnovers. Strangely Khimki-2 outrebounded Parma-2 42-30 including 28 on the defensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Khimki-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Center Egor Melnikov (206-1) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Kirill Budin (-1) chipped in 14 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was center Dmitrii Karbusov (205-99) with 6 points and 10 rebounds and forward Daniil Medyanikov (198-99) scored 7 points and 8 rebounds. Khimki-2's coach Alexander Gerasimov rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Parma-2 maintains eleventh position with 4-18 record. Khimki-2 at the other side keeps the third place with eight games lost. Parma-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Khimki-2 will play at home against N.Novgorod-2 and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
