An interesting game took place in Sankt Petersburg where higher ranked Spartak St.Petersburg (11-11) was upset on its own court by tenth ranked Chernye Medv. (8-14) 69-61. Chernye Medv. made 21-of-24 charity shots (87.5 percent) during the game, while Spartak St.Petersburg only scored five points from the stripe. Guard Elizaveta Balykova (172-98) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 12-for-12 from the free throw line !!!). Center Ekaterina Genadieva (187-96) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Chernye Medv.'s coach Kiril Volodin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Ekaterina Lepkovich answered with 19 points and 5 rebounds and guard Victoria Mazur (164-92) added 15 points and 7 assists in the effort for Spartak St.Petersburg. Chernye Medv. moved-up to ninth place, which they share with Sparta&K-2 V. Spartak St.Petersburg at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the fifth position with 11 games lost.
