The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Dynamo-MGTU as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Dynamo-MGTU smashed 5th ranked Neftekhimik T. in Maykop 88-67. They outrebounded Neftekhimik T. 39-25 including 26 on the defensive glass. Dynamo-MGTU looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Dynamo-MGTU made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was Ukrainian center Nikolay Eremin (205-85) who had a double-double by scoring 12 points and 12 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) chipped in 19 points. Four Dynamo-MGTU players scored in double figures. Dynamo-MGTU's coach felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Swingman Aleksey Almushev (198-90) produced 26 points and 9 rebounds and forward Maksim Pylaev (196-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists respectively for the guests. Dynamo-MGTU (17-5) have an impressive series of five victories in a row. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Neftekhimik T. lost seventh consecutive game.
