Point guard Devon Thomas (183-94, college: Texas Tech) nailed 12 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and forward Esa Ahmad (203-96, college: WVU) accounted for 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four AEK Larnaca players scored in double figures. Point guard Jarvis Garrett (182-95, college: URI) came up with 10 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center LaRon Dendy (205-88, college: MTSU) added 11 points and 9 rebounds respectively for Apoel in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Larnaca maintains second place with 9-2 record having four points less than leader Keravnos. Apoel at the other side dropped to the fifth position with six games lost. AEK Larnaca will play against Apollon (#3) in Limassol in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Apoel will play on the road against AEL in Limassol and hopes to get back on the winning track.
