Regular Season Round 15: Vasas Akademia - Cegledi EKK 69-70

A very interesting game took place in Budapest. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 10th ranked Vasas Akademia (4-10) to ninth ranked Cegledi EKK (6-10) 70-69 in the fight for the ninth place. The best player for the winners was American center Kristina Higgins (196-94, college: Baylor) who had a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds (on 14-of-18 shooting from the field). Swingman Agnes Gorjanacz (182-94) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 11 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Brianna Fraser (190-97, college: Maryland, agency: Wasserman) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 15 rebounds and Bosnian power forward Sara Heljic (188-0) added 14 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Four Vasas Akademia players scored in double figures. Cegledi EKK maintains ninth place with 6-10 record. Vasas Akademia lost their third game in a row. They keep the tenth position with ten games lost. Cegledi EKK's next round opponent will be higher ranked TFSE-MTK (#5) in Budapest and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Vasas Akademia will play on the road against PEAC-Pecs (#6) and hope to win that game.
