Regular Season Round 15: BEAC Ujbuda - Sopron Basket 66-95

A Division top team - Sopron Basket (13-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed eleventh ranked BEAC-Ujbuda (1-13) in Budapest 95-66. Sopron Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to BEAC-Ujbuda's 22. They outrebounded BEAC-Ujbuda 35-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. Sopron Basket players were unselfish on offense dishing 27 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by BEAC-Ujbuda's players. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. It was a great evening for American power forward Candice Dupree (188-84, college: Temple) who led her team to a victory scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists. Serbian Jelena Milovanovic-Brooks (189-89) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sopron Basket players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Jennifer Schlott (168-91, college: Utah St., agency: Scorers 1st Sportmanagement) with 17 points and the former international guard Anna Lakloth (181-88) scored 10 points and 4 assists. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sopron Basket. Defending champion maintains first place with 13-1 record. BEAC-Ujbuda lost their eleventh game in a row. They dropped to the bottom position with 13 games lost. Sopron Basket will play against UNI Gyor (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. BEAC-Ujbuda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Budapest NKE-Csata.
