Very predictable result when second ranked Anorthosis (7-1) smashed at home bottom-ranked ENAD (0-9) 76-33 on Sunday. The game without a history. Anorthosis led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding ENAD to just 6 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Anorthosis held ENAD to an opponent 20.3 percent shooting from the field compared to 42.1 percent accuracy of the winners. They outrebounded ENAD 52-33 including 16 on the offensive glass. Anorthosis looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by ENAD's players. American forward Nike McClure (190-96, college: N.Mexico) had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field) to lead the charge for the winners and swingman Marissa Pangalos (170-95) chipped in 9 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Anorthosis' coach Aristos Aristou felt very confident using 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side center Maria Kalianou (183-98) responded with 11 points and 9 rebounds and point guard Charalambia Kalianou (170-99) scored 9 points and 6 rebounds. Anorthosis have an impressive seven-game winning streak. Newly promoted Anorthosis maintains second position with 7-1 record having just three points less than leader C2S AEL. ENAD at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Anorthosis will face Keravnos (#3) in Nicosia in the next round, which may be the game of the day. ENAD will play against Phoenix (#6) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
