Regular Season Round 21: Khimki-2 - Unics-2 88-73

No shocking result in a game when third ranked Khimki-2 (18-8) beat at home 7th ranked Unics-2 (12-14) 88-73. The game was mostly controlled by Khimki-2. Unics-2 was better in second period 20-15. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Khimki-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Unics-2's 30. Khimki-2 forced 19 Unics-2 turnovers. Swingman Ivan Evstigneev (194-99) stepped up and scored 25 points for the winners and center Vladislav Sharapov (205-99) chipped in 11 points and 12 rebounds. Five Khimki-2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Kirill Anoshin (194-0) with 23 points and 6 assists and guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) scored 22 points. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Khimki-2 have an impressive series of eight victories in a row. They maintain third place with 18-8 record having two points less than leader CSKA Junior. Unics-2 at the other side dropped to the sixth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Lokomotiv-2 and N.Novgorod-2. Khimki-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Unics-2 will play on the road against Parma-2 (#11) in Perm and hopes to get back on the winning track.
