Regular Season Round 22: Parma-2 - Unics-2 72-77

Everything went according to plan in Perm where seventh ranked Unics-2 (12-14) beat 11th ranked Parma-2 (7-19) 77-72 on Thursday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Parma-2 won third quarter 24-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics-2 had a 27-16 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) fired 15 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Center Konstantin Ekimov (205-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds. Forward Egor Chernyshev (196-99) produced a double-double by scoring 24 points and 15 rebounds and guard Kirill Budin (-1) added 21 points respectively for lost side. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Unics-2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Lokomotiv-2 and N.Novgorod-2. Loser Parma-2 keeps the eleventh position with 19 games lost. Unics-2 will meet at home higher ranked MBA-2 (#5) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Parma-2 will play against Zenit-2 (#9) in Sankt Petersburg and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
