Not a big story in a game when 15th ranked Novosybirsk (4-13) lost to sixth ranked Uralmash (11-6) in Ekaterinburg 56-72 on Saturday. Uralmash dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Novosybirsk's 24. It was a good game for American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CSUN) who led his team to a victory with 13 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Swingman Mikhail Karpachev (198-92) contributed with 18 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Uralmash's coach Mikhail Karpenko used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Daniil Axenov (183-95) replied with 19 points and the former international point guard Ivan Savelyev (190-87) added 9 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Novosybirsk. Uralmash have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kupol-Rodniki and Vostok-65. Loser Novosybirsk dropped to the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Uralmash will face league's second-placed Spartak-Prim. in Vladivostok in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Novosybirsk will play at home against MBA Moscow (#8) and hope to win that game.
