Regular Season Round 15: E.N. Paralimni - AEK Larnaca 50-80

An interesting game for AEK Larnaca (11-2) which played road game in Paralimni against 4th placed E.N. Paralimni (7-6). Second ranked AEK Larnaca had an easy win 80-50. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of E.N. Paralimni. The game was mostly controlled by AEK Larnaca. E.N. Paralimni managed to win third quarter 16-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. AEK Larnaca held E.N. Paralimni to an opponent 25.0 percent shooting from the field compared to 45.8 percent accuracy of the winners. AEK Larnaca had a 31-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international guard Andreas Sizopoulos (192-83) who led the winners and scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. American guard Isaac Hamilton (196-94, college: UCLA) accounted for 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for the winning side. American forward Gerald Blackshear (206-94, college: Detroit Mercy) came up with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and the other American import guard Nick Griffin (188-95, college: St.Peter's) added 10 points and 6 rebounds respectively for E.N. Paralimni in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. AEK Larnaca have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Keravnos. Loser E.N. Paralimni keeps the fourth position with six games lost. AEK Larnaca will meet at home Omonia (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. E.N. Paralimni will play against AEL in Limassol and hope to secure a win.
