Another interesting game was a derby match between two local teams from Ekaterinburg: Uralmash (#6) and Ural Ekaterinburg (#11). Ural Ekaterinburg was defeated at home 74-80 and even the fact of playing on their own court did not help. It was a good game for American guard Aaron Parks (190-94, college: CSUN) who led his team to a victory with 24 points and 9 rebounds. Point guard Igor Novikov (192-92) contributed with 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Naturalized Uzbekistani center Sergey Karaulov (216-82) replied with a double-double by scoring 10 points and 15 rebounds and guard Pavel Aleksandrov (190-89) added 17 points and 6 assists in the effort for Ural Ekaterinburg. Four Uralmash and five Ural Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. Ural Ekaterinburg's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Uralmash (11-6) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Kupol-Rodniki and Vostok-65. Loser Ural Ekaterinburg keeps the eleventh position with 11 games lost. Uralmash will face league's second-placed Spartak-Prim. in Vladivostok in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Ural Ekaterinburg will play on the road against Spartak St.Petersburg (#16) in Sankt Petersburg and hope to win that game.
