There was no surprise in Sankt Petersburg where 11th ranked Parma-2 (7-21) was crushed by ninth ranked Zenit-2 (11-17) 89-66 on Thursday. The hosts were tied at the half but managed to speed up in last two quarters eventually winning the game. Zenit-2 dominated on the defensive end, holding Parma-2 to just 7 points in third quarter. They also forced 22 Parma-2 turnovers. Zenit-2 looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The best player for the winners was guard Nikita Tikhonov (190-99) who scored 21 points and 6 rebounds. Forward Nikita Soldatov (200-99) chipped in 18 points and 5 rebounds. Point guard Kirill Budin (181-1) produced 23 points and swingman Dmitrii Dolmatov (192-1) added 9 points and 4 assists respectively for the guests. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Zenit-2 maintains ninth place with 11-17 record. Loser Parma-2 keeps the eleventh position with 21 games lost. Zenit-2 will have a break next round. Parma-2 will play on the road against Lokomotiv-2 (#6) in Krasnodar and hope to win that game.
