NLB top team - Villars (11-3) had no problems winning another game. This time they beat seventh ranked Lausanne (5-9) 83-67. Villars forced 19 Lausanne turnovers and outrebounded them 40-23 including a 29-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The winners were led by American center Larry Slaughter (203-92, college: Montevallo) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and guard Jeffrey Schwab (182-92) supported him with 19 points and 7 assists. Four Villars players scored in double figures. Even 25 points and 6 rebounds by swingman Stefano Mobilia (195-0) did not help to save the game for Lausanne. Swingman Lionel Notari (191-94) added 14 points for lost side. Lausanne's coach Eric Bally tested twelve players seeing no chance for a win. Villars maintains first position with 11-3 record, which they share with GC Zurich. Lausanne at the other side keeps the seventh place with nine games lost. They share the position with Baeren. Villars will play against Sion (#6) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Lausanne will play against Wallabies and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
