Regular Season Round 16: Keravnos - Apollon 79-65

The game between Top Four teams took place in Strovolos. Top-ranked host Keravnos (14-0) defeated 3rd ranked Apollon (10-5) 79-65. The game was mostly controlled by Keravnos. Apollon managed to win second period 16-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 19-of-21 free shots (90.5 percent) during the game. Keravnos looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Jake OBrien (206-89, college: Temple, agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import guard Josh Hagins (185-94, college: UALR, agency: Haylett Sports) who added 15 points and 10 assists during the contest. At the losing side American center Malik Hines (208-96, college: McNeese St.) responded with 15 points and 8 rebounds and the former international point guard Stefanos Iliadis (185-94, college: S.Florida) scored 10 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Keravnos have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. Apollon at the other side keeps the third place with five games lost. Keravnos are looking forward to face E.N. Paralimni (#4) on the road in the next round. Apollon will play against Apoel and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
