No shocking result in a game when eighth ranked N.Novgorod-2 (14-14) crushed 10th ranked Spartak-Prim.-2 (9-21) in Nizhny Novgorod 82-63 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 82-63. N.Novgorod-2 outrebounded Spartak-Prim.-2 44-26 including a 30-13 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by center Ilya Sorokin (206-1, agency: Alti Sport) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds and forward Yegor Chepik (197-0) supported him with 12 points and 15 rebounds. Four N.Novgorod-2 players scored in double figures. N.Novgorod-2's coach Roman Gorelovskiy used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. Even 16 points by guard Ilya Bylkov (189-1) did not help to save the game for Spartak-Prim.-2. Forward Aleksandr Kozin (205-2) added 11 points and 5 rebounds. N.Novgorod-2 moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Unics-2 and MBA-2. Spartak-Prim.-2 lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 21 games lost. N.Novgorod-2 will meet at home MBA-2 (#7) in the next round. Spartak-Prim.-2 will play against Unics-2 in Kazan and hope to secure a win.
