Regular Season Round 11: ENAD - Phoenix 39-77

Bottom-ranked ENAD (0-10) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 77-39 loss to sixth ranked Phoenix (2-7) in Nicosia on Sunday evening. The game without a history. Phoenix led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to ENAD's 28. Phoenix forced 24 ENAD turnovers and outrebounded them 65-31 including a 28-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Daria Evdokimova (185-86) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds. Guard Mezra Torlak (172-2) helped adding 14 points and 7 rebounds. Coach 's team controlled all game and the coach could let to play 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Point guard Charalambia Kalianou (170-99) responded with 15 points and 5 rebounds and center Maria Kalianou (183-98) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Newly promoted Phoenix maintains sixth place with 2-7 record. ENAD lost their tenth game in a row. They still close the standings with ten games lost. Phoenix will meet at home higher ranked Keravnos (#3) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. ENAD will have a break next round.
