Rather predictable result in Kazan where sixth ranked Unics-2 (15-14) defeated 10th ranked Spartak-Prim.-2 (9-22) 89-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Spartak-Prim.-2 won fourth quarter 18-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics-2 made 19-of-22 charity shots (86.4 percent) during the game. Unics-2 outrebounded Spartak-Prim.-2 35-23 including a 30-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Unics-2 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a very good performance for center Semen Pinaev (208-99) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Ilya Karpenkov (203-97) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Unics-2's coach Andrei Kibenko used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Forward Aleksandr Kozin (205-2) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and guard Andrey Lukashov (189-1) added 21 points in the effort for Spartak-Prim.-2. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Unics-2. They maintain sixth place with 15-14 record, which they share with MBA-2. Spartak-Prim.-2 lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 22 games lost. Unics-2's next round opponent will be again Spartak-Prim.-2 (#10) in Vladivostok.
