Regular Season Round 26: Unics-2 - Spartak-Prim.-2 75-65

There was no surprise in Kazan where 10th ranked Spartak-Prim.-2 (9-23) was defeated by seventh ranked Unics-2 (16-14) 75-65. It looked good early as Spartak-Prim.-2 took a 1-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Unics-2 had a 19-11 second period charge getting the lead and Spartak-Prim.-2 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 65-75. Unics-2 forced 20 Spartak-Prim.-2 turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) notched a double-double by scoring 15 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and forward Nikita Sokolov (197-99) supported him with 13 points and 6 rebounds. Unics-2's coach Andrei Kibenko allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Even 14 points and 9 rebounds by forward Sergey Grashkin (202-2) did not help to save the game for Spartak-Prim.-2. Forward Aleksandr Kozin (205-2) added 14 points for the guests. Unics-2 have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Lokomotiv-2. Spartak-Prim.-2 lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the tenth position with 23 games lost. Unics-2's next round opponent will be league's leader CSKA Junior in Moscow and it may be quite challenging game. Spartak-Prim.-2 will play at home against Zenit-2 (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
