There was an upset in Szekesfehervar where higher ranked Alba (10-8) was defeated by eleventh ranked KTE-Duna (7-10) 90-80 on Saturday. Alba was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Cleveland Thomas (190-93, college: WKU) scored 23 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international point guard Krisztian Wittmann (184-85) chipped in 20 points and 4 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Serbian Luka Markovic (196-93, agency: Octagon Europe) with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Carlton Guyton (193-90, college: Kent St., agency: HMS) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Five KTE-Duna and four Alba players scored in double figures. Alba's coach Jesus Ramirez tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. KTE-Duna moved-up to tenth place. Loser Alba dropped to the fifth position with eight games lost. KTE-Duna will face bottom-ranked JP-Auto JKSE (#14) in Jaszberenyi in the next round. Alba will play on the road against the league's leader Falco-Vulcano (#1) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
