Regular Season Round 16: UMMC - MBA 84-55

PBL top team - UMMC Ekaterinburg (14-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed seventh ranked MBA (5-9) 84-55. They outrebounded MBA 43-27 including a 37-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. UMMC Ekaterinburg looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Worth to mention a quality performance of Bahamas-Bosnian center Jonquel Jones (198-94, college: GWU) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 32 points and 11 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws) and Spanish swingman Alba Torrens (188-89) who added 7 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Four UMMC Ekaterinburg players scored in double figures. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach Miguel Mendez felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side international point guard Elizaveta Komarova (172-95, agency: LBM Management) responded with 16 points and the former international center Anastasia Logunova (192-90, agency: LBM Management) scored 11 points. UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive 14-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 14-0 record. MBA lost seventh consecutive game. They keep the seventh place with nine games lost. UMMC Ekaterinburg are looking forward to face Nadezhda Orenburg (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. MBA will play against the league's second-placed Dynamo Kursk (#2) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
