Everything could happen in Moscow at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked MBA-2 and 7th ranked Lokomotiv-2 had identical 16-15 record. This time MBA-2 used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Krasnodar 73-59 on Tuesday night. The hosts trailed by 2 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 14-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 73-59. MBA-2 outrebounded Lokomotiv-2 42-22 including a 26-15 advantage in defensive rebounds. The winners were led by forward Andrey Malinin (205-2) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 13 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and guard Maksim Lichutin (189-0) supported him with 18 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Five MBA-2 players scored in double figures. Even 14 points and 8 rebounds by forward Nikita Remizov (197-0, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) did not help to save the game for Lokomotiv-2. Ukrainian Andrey Matyuk (206-0) added 16 points for lost side. Lokomotiv-2's coach Evgeni Safonov tested eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted MBA-2 maintains fifth position with 17-15 record. Loser Lokomotiv-2 dropped to the sixth place with 16 games lost. They share the position with Unics-2 and N.Novgorod-2. MBA-2 will meet at home Zenit-2 (#9) in the next round. Lokomotiv-2 will play against Spartak-Prim.-2 in Vladivostok and hope to secure a win.
