Regular Season Round 19: E.N. Paralimni - Omonia 61-70

E.N. Paralimni (#4) was upset in Paralimni by seventh ranked Omonia 70-61. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of E.N. Paralimni. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 22-15. But E.N. Paralimni won second period 14-11. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Omonia made 22-of-29 charity shots (75.9 percent) during the game. It was an exceptional evening for American guard Nate Britt (185-94, college: UNC) who led the winners and scored 13 points, 9 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. His fellow American import point guard David Nichols (183-96, college: FSU) accounted for 20 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Four Omonia players scored in double figures. American guard Jordin Williams (190-96, college: LSUA, agency: Network Sports International) came up with 17 points and 4 assists and swingman Iezekel Papadopoulos (195-82) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for E.N. Paralimni in the defeat. Omonia (6-11) moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Etha. E.N. Paralimni at the other side keeps the fourth position with eight games lost. Omonia will play against higher ranked Apoel (#5) in Nicosia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. E.N. Paralimni will play on the road against AEL in Limassol and hopes to get back on the winning track.
