Regular Season Round 21: Uralmash - Burevestnik 84-70

The game between third ranked Burevestnik (14-6) and sixth ranked Uralmash (12-8) was the most important one in the last round on Thursday night. Burevestnik was defeated by Uralmash in Ekaterinburg 70-84. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Burevestnik. They outrebounded Burevestnik 46-27 including 32 on the defensive glass. 24 personal fouls committed by Burevestnik helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Igor Novikov (192-92) who led his team to a victory with 16 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Swingman Mikhail Karpachev (198-92) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Five Uralmash players scored in double figures. American guard Justin Roberson (185-93, college: ULM) answered with 28 points and 7 rebounds and guard Sergey Tokarev (191-85) added 6 points and 4 assists in the effort for Burevestnik. Burevestnik's coach Mikhail Terekhov rotated ten players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Uralmash moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Kupol-Rodniki. Burevestnik at the other side keeps the third position with six games lost. Uralmash is looking forward to face Spartak St.Petersburg (#14) in Sankt Petersburg in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Burevestnik will play on the road against Temp (#7) in Revda and is hoping to win this game.
