Twelfth-ranked Swiss Central (2-15) was very close to win a game against fourth ranked Massagno (11-6) on Friday. Massagno managed to secure only two-point victory 79-77. However their fans expected much easier game. Massagno dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Swiss Central's 38. They outrebounded Swiss Central 42-27 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Massagno looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The former international swingman Dusan Mladjan (198-86, agency: Interperformances) orchestrated the victory by scoring 19 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. Montenegrin forward Slobodan Miljanic (200-90, college: Lynn) contributed with 20 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Massagno's coach Robbi Gubitosa used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard RJ Price (183-93, college: Radford) answered with 27 points and 4 assists and Jamaican forward Joel Wright (201-90, college: Texas St.) added 21 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Swiss Central. Massagno have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 11-6 record. Swiss Central at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Massagno are looking forward to face Pully (#9) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Swiss Central will play against the league's second-placed Neuchatel and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
