Regular Season Round 19: Kaposvari - Szolnok 80-89

There was no surprise when 12th ranked Kaposvari (7-13) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Szolnok (11-8) 89-80 on Friday. It was a great evening for American-Slovakian guard Andre Jones (195-90, college: Winthrop, agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory scoring 28 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists (perfect behind the arc making all eight shots !!!). Croatian center Marijan Cakarun (204-90, agency: PEPI SPORT) helped adding 24 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. Szolnok's coach Gasper Potocnik used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side American point guard Rashun Davis (182-93, college: Radford) responded with 21 points, 5 assists and 4 steals and the other American import guard Julian Norfleet (188-91, college: Mt.St.Mary's) scored 18 points. Szolnok moved-up to fourth place, which they share with DEAC. Loser Kaposvari keeps the twelfth position with 13 games lost. Szolnok will meet at home Oroszlany (#9) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kaposvari will play against Atomeromu in Paks and hope to secure a win.
