Regular Season Round 18: Swiss Central - Neuchatel 73-104

Date: February 9, 2020
12th ranked Swiss Central (2-16) was outscored at home by second ranked Neuchatel (16-2) with the biggest margin this round 104-73. Neuchatel dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Swiss Central's 42. It was a good game for American power forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) who led his team to a victory with 23 points and 9 rebounds. Naturalized Dominican point guard Bryan Colon (181-92) contributed with 17 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Five Neuchatel players scored in double figures. Jamaican forward Joel Wright (201-90, college: Texas St.) replied with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds and American point guard RJ Price (183-93, college: Radford) added 11 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Swiss Central. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Neuchatel have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 16-2 record having just one point less than leader Fribourg. Swiss Central lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 16 games lost. Neuchatel's next round opponent will be Boncourt (#6) on the road. Swiss Central will play against Pully (#10) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
