Regular Season Round 15: Riva - Winterthur 46-87

SBL top team - Winterthur (12-3) had no problems winning another game on Friday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Riva (0-15) in Riva San Vitale 87-46. Winterthur dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Riva's 38. Winterthur forced 20 Riva turnovers and outrebounded them 53-33 including a 38-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Riva's players. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for Labrittney Jones (185-95, college: Arizona) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Kolby Morgan (173-96, college: Tulane) helped adding 18 points and 5 assists. Five Winterthur players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Tia Wooten (183, college: Tennessee St.) with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Branndais Agee (180-94, college: Michigan St.) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Riva's coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Winterthur maintains first place with 12-3 record, which they share with Fribourg. Riva at the other side still closes the standings with 15 games lost. Winterthur is looking forward to face Nyon (#8) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Riva will play against BBC Troist. in Troistorrents and hopes to get finally their first victory.
