No shocking result in a game when fifth ranked Monthey (11-8) smashed at home 9th ranked Lugano Tigers (6-13) 93-68. Monthey players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American swingman TJ Dunans (196-92, college: Auburn) who led the winners and scored 31 points and 5 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Vincent Bailey (201-91, college: Lincoln Memorial) accounted for 14 points for the winning side. Monthey's coach Patrick Pembele felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (206-92) came up with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and American point guard Tajuan Porter (170-88, college: Oregon) added 20 points, 5 rebounds and 7 assists respectively for Lugano Tigers in the defeat. Monthey maintains fifth place with 11-8 record. Lugano Tigers at the other side dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Monthey's next round opponent will be higher ranked Massagno (#4) on the road and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Lugano Tigers will play against Vevey Riviera (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
