Very important is a home loss of third ranked Vostok-65 (15-8) against tenth ranked Universitet-Yugra (10-13) on Sunday night. Host Vostok-65 was edged by Universitet-Yugra in a tough game in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk 86-88. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Vostok-65. The winners were led by American point guard Andre Walker (186-96, college: Loyola, MD, agency: Interperformances) who had that evening a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 13 assists and the former international power forward Artem Pisarchuk (205-92) supported him with 15 points and 7 rebounds. Universitet-Yugra's coach Sergei Olhov used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Even 22 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Jabril Durham (185-94, college: Arkansas) did not help to save the game for Vostok-65. Forward Evgeny Karpeko (203-89, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) added 18 points and 5 assists. Five Universitet-Yugra and four Vostok-65 players scored in double figures. Universitet-Yugra maintains tenth position with 10-13 record. Loser Vostok-65 dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Universitet-Yugra will meet at home Spartak St.Petersburg (#14) in the next round. Vostok-65 will play against the league's second-placed Samara (#2) where they are definitely not considered as a favorite in this game either.
