Everything could happen in Sankt Petersburg at the game between two tied teams. Both seventh ranked Zenit-2 and 8th ranked Unics-2 had identical 18-19 record. This time Zenit-2 used a home court advantage and won against the opponent from Kazan 87-69. It looked good early as Unics-2 took a 3-point small lead at the end of first quarter. But then Zenit-2 had a 25-8 second period charge getting the lead and Unics-2 was not able to take back game control losing it eventually 69-87. They outrebounded Unics-2 53-32 including a 23-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. Unics-2 was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Daniil Mikhailov (198-99) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Nikita Soldatov (200-99) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Zenit-2 players scored in double figures. Center Semen Pinaev (208-99) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds and guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Unics-2. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Zenit-2. They maintain seventh place with 19-19 record. Unics-2 lost their fourth game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 20 games lost. Zenit-2 will again play against Unics-2 (#8) in Kazan in the next round. Unics-2 will have a break next round.
