Second Stage Round 7: BARS-RGEU - Rusichi K. 98-86

Everything could happen in Rostov at the game between two tied teams. Both fifth ranked BARS-RGEU and 6th ranked Rusichi K. had identical 8-11 record. This time BARS-RGEU used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Kursk 98-86 on Saturday night. BARS-RGEU dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Rusichi K.'s 32. They outrebounded Rusichi K. 52-29 including a 37-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. BARS-RGEU looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. Quite impressive performance for power forward Sergey Bolotskikh (206-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 24 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Vladislav Solovyev (195-88) contributed with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Forward Konstantin Pomogalov (196-93) answered with 26 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Yegor Tikanov (194-92) added 13 points and 5 assists in the effort for Rusichi K.Four Rusichi K. players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BARS-RGEU have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted BARS-RGEU maintains fifth place with 9-11 record. Rusichi K. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the sixth position with 12 games lost. BARS-RGEU will have a break next round. Rusichi K. will play at home against the league's leader Dynamo STV (#1) and hope to win that game.
