Regular Season Round 40: Nika - Kazanochka 78-66

There was no surprise in Syktyvkar where 6th ranked Kazanochka (18-20) was defeated by third ranked Nika (29-9) 78-66 on Wednesday. Nika made 20-of-26 free shots (76.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Kazanochka turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Julia Poluyanova (187-92) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Viktoriya Ponamarchuk (187-95) who added 16 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Nika's coach Dmitry Shumikhin allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side forward Olga Lavrova (182-95) responded with 18 points and Svetlana Soldatova scored 17 points. Nika have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Dynamo-Farm. Loser Kazanochka keeps the sixth position with 20 games lost. Nika will meet at home league's second-placed Dynamo-Farm in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Kazanochka will play against Sparta&K-2 V (#10) in Vidnoye and hope to secure a win.
