The game between closely ranked teams ended with 8th ranked AEL's (5-16) road loss to seventh ranked Omonia (8-12) 65-76 on Saturday. The game was mostly controlled by Omonia. AEL managed to win fourth quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for American point guard David Nichols (183-96, college: FSU) who led his team to a victory scoring 33 points (!!!), 7 rebounds and 6 assists. His fellow American import guard Nate Britt (185-94, college: UNC) helped adding 13 points and 6 rebounds. Greek center Ioannis Dimakopoulos (218-94, college: UC Irvine) responded with 19 points and 8 rebounds and American point guard Adrian Hicks (183-97, college: Morehead St., agency: Inception Sports) scored 8 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists. Omonia maintains seventh place with 8-12 record. AEL lost their third game in a row. They keep the eighth position with 16 games lost. Omonia will meet bottom-ranked APOP (#9) in the next round. AEL will have a break next round.
