The game with biggest result difference took place in Nicosia. Local Etha (9-11) outscored 9th ranked APOP (2-19) 89-58 on Saturday night. The game without a history. Etha led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding APOP to just 4 points in second quarter. Etha dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to APOP's 20. They outrebounded APOP 51-36 including a 40-24 advantage in defensive rebounds. Etha looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The game was also dominated by American players. Point guard Anthony Adger (185, college: FAU) helped adding 16 points and 9 assists. Etha's coach Giorgos Bitzanis felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Courtney Pigram (185-85, college: ETSU, agency: Interperformances) responded with 29 points and point guard Phil Taylor (178-91, college: Shorter) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists. The victory was the third consecutive win for Etha. They moved-up to fifth place. Newly promoted APOP stay dead last with 19 lost games. Etha will meet league's leader Keravnos in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. APOP will play against Omonia (#7) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
