The most surprising game was a loss of top-ranked Falco-Vulcano (17-3) on the court of eleventh ranked Sopron KC on Saturday night. Visitors were defeated by Sopron KC 79-74. American forward Eric Carter (206-95, college: Delaware) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. The other American import guard Bernard Thompson (191-93, college: FGCU) contributed with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 8 assists for the winners. International guard Benedek Varadi (195-95, agency: Octagon Europe) replied with 11 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international forward Marko Filipovity (204-96) added 13 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Falco-Vulcano. Five Sopron KC and four Falco-Vulcano players scored in double figures. Falco-Vulcano's coach Gasper Okorn rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Sopron KC maintains eleventh position with 8-12 record. Defending champion Falco-Vulcano still keeps top place with three games lost. Sopron KC are looking forward to face higher ranked Szolnok (#7) at home in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Falco-Vulcano will play against JP-Auto JKSE (#14) and is hoping to win this game.
