Regular Season Round 1: MBA-2 - Runa-2 56-60

Another exciting game was a derby match between two teams from Moscow: Runa-2 and MBA-2. Despite it looked like an easy game for Runa-2, those rules do not exist in derby games. It's more the case of honor for local supporters and such games have that special and unique approach you cannot find in other games. Host MBA-2 challenged much higher ranked Runa-2 giving them a very tough game, but finally losing it by four points 60-56. MBA-2 was tied at the half but could not keep up in last two quarters eventually losing the game. 25 personal fouls committed by MBA-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ilya Bogdanov (198-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds. Guard Ilya Baranov (190-2) contributed with 12 points for the winners. Guard Yegor Pokinko (185-2) answered with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists and forward Kirill Esipov (195-2) added 17 points and 4 steals in the effort for MBA-2. MBA-2's coach Sergei Zharmukhamedov let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Runa-2 will have a break next round. MBA-2's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face again at home their local rival from Moscow Runa-2.
