Regular Season Round 1: Boncourt - Neuchatel 78-80

Very significant was Neuchatel's just 2-point road victory against Boncourt 80-78. Boncourt was very close to get their first win. But it seems they have to wait a little bit longer. American guard Vernon Taylor (191-87, college: Troy) nailed 24 points and 5 assists (made all of his seven free throws) for the winning side and his fellow American import forward Markel Humphrey (198-87, college: Marshall) accounted for 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. American guard Devin Cooper (189-97, college: Catawba) came up with 24 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian center Milos Jankovic (206-94) added 14 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Boncourt in the defeat. Four Boncourt players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Neuchatel will play against Fribourg at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Boncourt will play against Nyon and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
