Regular Season Round 4: Lokomotiv-2 - Unics-2 87-64

The game had a very big importance for fourth-ranked Lokomotiv-2 as it allowed them to take a leadership position after previous leader's (N.Novgorod-2) loss. Lokomotiv-2 smashed bottom-ranked Unics-2 in Krasnodar 87-64. The game was mostly controlled by Lokomotiv-2. Unics-2 was better in third quarter 20-19. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lokomotiv-2 forced 19 Unics-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 41-30 including 29 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Lokomotiv-2 especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.9 percentage. They brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of center Yaroslav Nyagu (211-3) who helped to win the game recording 12 points and 9 rebounds. Center Kirill Elatontsev (207-2) contributed with 12 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Lokomotiv-2 players scored in double figures. Lokomotiv-2's coach Zakhar Pashutin felt very confident that he used 11 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Nikolay Altufiev (194-1) replied with 19 points and 6 assists and forward Ilya Karpenko (199-1) added 8 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Unics-2. As mentioned above they are at the top of the standings, which they share with 3 other teams. Unics-2 at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
