Regular Season Round 6: Zenit-2 - Unics-2 67-43

Bottom-ranked Unics-2 (0-6) is still winless. But it was rather predictable considering how strong their opponent was. This time they lost on the road their sixth consecutive match to fourth ranked Zenit-2 (4-2) 67-43 on Friday evening. The game without a history. Zenit-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Unics-2 to just 5 points in first quarter and to 14 points in first half. Zenit-2 forced 23 Unics-2 turnovers and outrebounded them 43-30 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was forward Semen Krasilshchikov (197-0) who scored 18 points and 7 rebounds. Center Ivan Krikun (206-0) chipped in 7 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Ivan Samoilenko who recorded 8 points and 5 rebounds and forward Ilya Karpenko (199-1) added 7 points and 8 rebounds respectively. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Zenit-2 have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Unics-2 at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Zenit-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Unics-2 will play against Enisey-2 (#10) in Krasnoyarsk and hopes to get finally their first victory.
