Regular Season Round 6: Lokomotiv-2 - N.Novgorod-2 79-49

VTB-Youth League top team - Lokomotiv-2 (5-1) had no problems winning another game. This time they crushed fifth ranked N.Novgorod-2 (3-3) in Krasnodar 79-49. The game without a history. Lokomotiv-2 led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated on the defensive end, holding N.Novgorod-2 to just 6 points in second quarter. Lokomotiv-2 dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to N.Novgorod-2's 26. Lokomotiv-2 forced 27 N.Novgorod-2 turnovers. Center Semen Medvedev (210-1) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 15 rebounds to lead the effort and forward Sergey Dolinin (204-0) supported him with 15 points and 5 rebounds. Even 7 points by guard Artem Kochergin (170-3) did not help to save the game for N.Novgorod-2. Forward Yegor Chepik (197-0) added 8 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Lokomotiv-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 5-1 record. N.Novgorod-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the fifth place with three games lost. They share the position with Samara-2 and Avtodor-2. Lokomotiv-2 will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. N.Novgorod-2 will play on the road against CSKA Junior (#9) in Moscow and hopes to get back on the winning track.
