Rather expected game when 5th ranked Ufimets Ufa (2-3) was defeated at home by third ranked Runa Basket (4-2) 85-73 on Wednesday. Runa Basket dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Ufimets Ufa's 26 and made 18-of-20 free shots (90.0 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ufimets Ufa 43-23 including a 20-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for center Alexey Kurtsevich (210-89) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Runa Basket's coach Oleg Bartunov used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. At the losing side guard Artem Isakov (192-87) responded with 21 points and 4 assists and Boris Nazmutdinov (191-96) scored 13 points. Runa Basket have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to second place. Loser Ufimets Ufa dropped to the ninth position with three games lost. Runa Basket will face Samara (#5) on the road in the next round. Ufimets Ufa will play against Burevestnik (#3) and hope to win that game.
