Regular Season Round 7: Chevakata - Neftyanik 68-83

There was a minor upset in Vologda where 5th ranked Chevakata (3-2) was defeated by seventh ranked Neftyanik (4-3) 83-68. Neftyanik forced 30 Chevakata turnovers. 33 personal fouls committed by Chevakata helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Marina Sheveleva (184-89) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 6 rebounds. Center Sofya Kornyenko (187-98) contributed with 16 points for the winners. Alina Zamaraeva-Zabolockay (179-93) answered with 17 points and 4 assists and Catherine Schwab (181-97) added 14 points in the effort for Chevakata. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Neftyanik moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Spartak SP and Chernye Medv. Chevakata at the other side dropped to the seventh position with two games lost. Neftyanik's next round opponent will be Dynamo-En.IVA (#11) in Ivanovo and are hoping to win another game. Chevakata will play at home against UMMC Junior (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
