Very important is a home loss of third ranked MBA Moscow (4-2) against fifth ranked TSU (4-1) on Sunday night. Host MBA Moscow was crushed by TSU in Moscow 77-55. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of MBA Moscow. TSU made 24-of-31 charity shots (77.4 percent) during the game. They outrebounded MBA Moscow 46-35 including 32 on the defensive glass. MBA Moscow was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international Aleksandr Zakharov (202-93) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and point guard Victor Zaryazhko (195-92) chipped in 15 points (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line). Four TSU players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was forward Alexey Babushkin (197-94, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) with 9 points and 12 rebounds and forward Maxim Sheleketo (204-87) scored 12 points and 5 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. TSU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. MBA Moscow at the other side dropped to the fourth position with two games lost. TSU will play against Kupol-Rodniki (#11) in Izhevsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. MBA Moscow will play at home against Uralmash (#10) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
