Neftekhimik T. (#5) was upset in Chelyabinsk by eighth ranked Chelbasket 85-81. Neftekhimik T. was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. It was an exceptional evening for Andrey Loginov (204-93) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 13 rebounds. Belarusian guard Valentin Nazarov (185-97) accounted for 18 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Chelbasket's coach Maxim Pertsev allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Center Kirill Arkhipov (201-96) came up with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Taras Klyundikov (190-95) added 10 points, 5 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively for Neftekhimik T. in the defeat. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Chelbasket (3-4) moved-up to seventh place. Neftekhimik T. at the other side dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. Chelbasket will play against higher ranked Cheb.Yastreby (#4) in Cheboksari in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Neftekhimik T. will play on the road against Metallurg MGN in Cheliabinsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
