Regular Season Round 7: Winterthur - Troistorrents 98-68

Rather expected game when 5th ranked Troistorrents (2-3) were smashed on the road by leader Winterthur (4-0) 98-68. Winterthur dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Troistorrents' 30 and made 23-of-28 charity shots (82.1 percent) during the game. Winterthur forced 20 Troistorrents turnovers and outrebounded them 41-29 including 26 on the defensive glass. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Troistorrents were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American guard Ameryst Alston (175-93, college: Ohio St.) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Ukrainian forward Olha Yatskovets (188-97, agency: LBM Management) helped adding 28 points and 6 rebounds. Winterthur's coach Daniel Rasljic felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Hungarian forward Nora Nagy-Bujdoso (185-85) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and American guard Isabelle Spingola (183-98, college: Marquette) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds. Five Troistorrents players scored in double figures. Winterthur have a solid series of four victories in a row. Defending champion keeps a position of league leader, which they share with Fribourg. Troistorrents lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth place with three games lost. Winterthur will play against Nyon (#7) on the road in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Troistorrents will play against Pully and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
