Regular Season Round 11: Burevestnik - CSKA 2 97-90

There was no surprise in Yaroslav where 13th ranked CSKA 2 (2-7) was defeated by third ranked Burevestnik (5-3) 97-90 on Sunday. Burevestnik made 22-of-23 free shots (95.7 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was American guard Justin Roberson (187-93, college: ULM) who scored 28 points and 8 assists. Forward Andrey Semenov (200-90, college: JMU) chipped in 18 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!). Four Burevestnik players scored in double figures. Point guard Makar Konovalov (189-0) produced 27 points, 6 assists and 4 steals (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) and center Aleksandr Shashkov (211-0) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for the guests. CSKA 2's coach Predrag Badnjarevic rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Despite that victory Burevestnik went down to sixth position due to points difference. CSKA 2 lost their seventh game in a row. They dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Burevestnik will face bottom-ranked Irkut (#14) in Irkutsk in the next round and are hoping to win another game. CSKA 2 will play on the road against Novosybirsk and hope to win that game.
