Not a big story in a game in Kazan where 11th ranked Unics-2 (3-11) was defeated by second ranked Khimki-2 (8-4) 76-70 on Monday. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 38-31 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. Khimki-2 outrebounded Unics-2 46-25 including a 33-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. Unics-2 was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of Armenian forward Alexey Chizhenok (198-1) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 13 rebounds and guard Nikita Lashkov (185-0) who added 16 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. Four Khimki-2 players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was guard Serafim Koroteev (190-0) with 21 points and 4 assists and point guard Ivan Samoilenko (171-3) scored 10 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Despite that victory Khimki-2 went down to third position due to points difference. Unics-2 lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 11 games lost. Khimki-2 will face CSKA Junior (#6) in Moscow in the next round. Unics-2 will play on the road against Runa-2 (#7) in Moscow and hope to win that game.
