Regular Season Round 12: Zenit-2 - Runa-2 65-63

The most exciting game of round 12 in the VTB-Youth League took place in Sankt Petersburg. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Runa-2 (6-6) to third ranked Zenit-2 (9-5) 65-63 on Tuesday evening. The hosts trailed by 5 points at the halftime before their 21-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Runa-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Semen Krasilshchikov (197-0) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds and forward Yegor Sorokin (197-2) who added 15 points and 5 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was forward Ilya Bogdanov (198-1) with a double-double by scoring 18 points and 13 rebounds and forward Nikita Troshin (202-2) scored 17 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Zenit-2 have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place. Runa-2 lost fourth consecutive game. Newly promoted team keeps the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with MBA-2. Zenit-2 are looking forward to face Samara-2 (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Runa-2 will play against Unics-2 and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
